Great loves live on throughout time despite separation and even death. In her new novel, Maurizio e Caterina: A Love Story (now available through AuthorHouse), Kathryn Chilcote, D.M.A., presents a woman's search for the man she left behind decades ago.

The book's subtitle: " 'tu sei il mio unico amore, per sempre' (you are my only love, forever)," truly describes the relationship of Maurizio Frusoni and Caterina, or Kathryn. When Maurizio appears to Kathryn in a dream decades after she left him to return to the United States, she is overcome by the need to find him. First, she searches the Web and is stunned by finding Maurizio's obituary. Realizing that he came to her for a reason, Kathryn contacts his family through their Web site. Maurizio's son responds, "I know who you are."

After 27 years away, Kathryn returns to Italy. She discovers that Jole, Maurizio's mother, is still living in Florence and decides to visit her. Jole had been a great obstacle in Kathryn's relationship with Maurizio, but the highly emotional reunion began Kathryn's healing and helped her reconnect with the part of herself still in Italy. Kathryn finally meets Marco, Maurizio's son, who invites her to spend the day with him and his mother, Mirella. While meeting their family and friends, a man expresses disbelief about Kathryn's relationship with Maurizio. When she eventually returns to the United States, she and a colleague perform a concert in honor of Maurizio.

Based on a true story, Maurizio e Caterina: A Love Story immerses readers in the romance of Italy and a love that lasts forever despite a life spent apart.

Kathryn Chilcote is a native of the Pacific Northwest and holds a bachelor's and a master's degree in voice from University of the Pacific, Conservatory of Music, Stockton, California.
